Ida Haugen (b. 1991) is a dancer, performer and choreographer from Skien, Norway, based in Oslo. She works across the fields of contemporary dance and performing arts, engaging in both collaborative and independent artistic practices. Her work moves between performance and choreography, and she also shares her practice through teaching and workshops.

Haugen’s artistic approach is grounded in a versatile and interdisciplinary practice, drawing on dance, acting, singing and writing. She is interested in the body as a narrative and sensorial space, and in how movement, presence and voice intersect within performative contexts.

She holds a BA in Contemporary Dance from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO, 2011–2014) and studied dance at Studio Harmonic in Paris (2010–2011). Haugen has received both one-year and two-year working grants from Arts Council Norway (2022 and 2024–2025), and was part of the ArtEx programme by Talent Norge in 2023–2024.

As a performer, she has collaborated with a wide range of artists and institutions, touring both nationally and internationally. Her work includes collaborations with Kari Hoaas Productions (Be Like Water, Shadowland, HEAT), Ellen Jerstad and Roza Moshtaghi (KinShips), Oslo Koreografiske, Nagelhus Schia Productions (Orbo Novo by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui), Jennie Bergsli (EDDY), Rom for dans, Unge Viken Teater and Ellen Jerstad (including the Hedda Award–winning Smeltasang), and Carte Blanche as an apprentice, working with Marcos Morau / La Veronal (Edvard). She has also worked with The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet (The Seven Deadly Sins) as the role as Anna, dancer, and revival choreographer.

As a choreographer, Haugen has created the full-length solo work Rose Water, presented at Black Box teater, Rosendal Teater and Spriten Kunsthall. She has also created the full-length work Hot Moon for five dancers, in collaboration with musician Vilde Tuv (Dansens Hus / NORA), as well as the youth performance Big Dreams (DanseFOT / NSP), presented at Bærum Kulturhus.

In addition, she has collaborated with musician Sondre Lerche, including projects at The Norwegian National Opera & Ballet, and music videos (Sondre Lerche, No. 4). She has also choreographed for 1313 Selah during Oslo Runway, presented at MUNCH, and Wilhelmina during Oslo Runway, presented at Berlin Studio, Oslo.

She works interdisciplinarily as a performer and choreographer, collaborating across artistic fields. Her practice is grounded in close artistic dialogue and collaboration, with a strong interest in how movement can enter and transform different artistic contexts.

She has extensive experience working with a wide range of audiences, including children, young people and youth with disabilities. Central to her practice is a commitment to sharing knowledge through performance and to creating work that is accessible, embodied and emotionally resonant.
